Oceanic VT Pro computer--Garbage? Can't Post

We spend at least an hour or more trying to change the battery in the VT Pro and this is the third one Oceanic has replaced. Trying to re-seal the battery compartment has become a nightmare.

Has anyone had any luck changing the battery in their VT Pro? If so, how do you do it.

The Oceanic tech has already told me not to use the battery changing techique in the manual because it is impossible to change the battery that way.

I would recommend you not purchase a VT Pro until Oceanic has changed the design of the battery compartment so the battery many be replaced without difficulty.

Have you asked this in the Scubaboard Computers/Gauges forum. I know I've seen some references to Oceanic computers there.

Thank you for the website cite. Have just been there and gave them your name as the reference.

Didn't see anything about the VT Pro.

Thanks again.

I found a couple of references to your computer on Scubaboard. One of them even has a reply in which the person talks about changing the batteries, so he's obviously done it. Here's the link: http://www.scubaboard.com/t56460-.html It's reply #11. If you register with scubaboard(it's free) you'll be able to contact him directly

Also here's a link to a posting with a couple of other people describing problems with their VT Pro Plus computers. One thing mentioned is that your computer is also sold by Aeris as the Atmos Elite, so maybe that's another way to get help with your problem.
