: Hello Jim : The lens was very near of the clown fishs, around 20 cm, but when you look the shots it seems 50 cm, it's the effect of wide angle. : It's also a probleme sometime because subjects can be shy, and you must choose either to go near or to zoom. : And often to go near is not the best solution, but when you can the result is marvelous. I really like the composition of this shot. I don't want to be too critical but something is not right here. I've seen similar shots with a Digital8 camera and MiniDV camera with better foreground illumination and that was without any artificial light at all. 2X 250 watts should be more than enough to light the clownfish better even if they were 7 feet away. Does this lens require lots more light? Does the camera? Some cameras have a "Spotlight" or "Backlight" setting that will overcome the problems created by the sun in the background so why isn't the forground of this shot brighter? (I realize he closed the shutter a bit)
