Who's Buying? Can't Post

Hi all. Good idea for a web site.
I want to work into the business of being a "content provider" and wonder who is buying and how to find them.
You probably know about footage.net and submiting to libraries. Has anyone had any luck?

We may be interested... Can't Post

Hi Charlie,
Personally we have had some luck marketing our own underwater 6mm DVT stock footage ourselves, no "reasonable" luck via image banks.
What do you have? Surprisingly we just got two large requests for international underwater stock video footage last week ( preferably shot using 6mm DVT media, SONY VX-1000's or CANON XL 1's ), and we haven't nearly enough to fill the orders. One order is for an educational CD ROM project focusing on the health of our Oceans, the other is a corporate communications CD ROM and Video for a Scuba manufacturer.
If you have quality 6mm DVT U/W video footage, if you can give us a brief Email description of your best images, we may be able to help you out.
Respectfully,
Phil Adams - Manta Multimedia Inc. - Vancouver, B.C., Canada

I may have 8 or 10 minutes that are suitable (40 minutes that I like, but I love this stuff!).
However, I did not see an email address in your notice. I can email a couple of stills.
I used miniDV or iDV Sony TRV900. Is that the same as the 6mm you refer to or is that DV Cam?

6mm DVT [In reply to] Can't Post

The miniDV tapes are 6mm, and it doesn't matter if it's miniDV or DV cam it's the same format. The actual size of the tape is less important once you've gone digital, at this point it matters more for storage capacity than quality. But if it helps, both the cameras Phil mentioned use miniDV tapes, just like the TRV900 (same camera I have, I love the thing).
