Standoff between lens and port? Can't Post

In my new Top Dawg housing, if I use both the battery I prefer (a big 950) and a monitor back, the lens of my camera (well, the filter ring) is probably within a mm of the (flat) port. Is that okay? I know the housing is rigid (I hope!), but I can't help but wonder if there's _some_ flex in the glass that might put it in contact with the camera and scratch. If advised to, I can switch to a lower capacity battery and move the lens back a good 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. But is that good / bad / indifferent?

depends what you are doing with the cam. I scratched a port up bad once but it was because a bouncy boat ride shook everything up. Some lenses have a rubber edge which solves the problem all together.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if that glass housing front flexed a mm or two when under pressure. The 950 is an 8-hour battery but you have only one hour of record time on the tape. A good compromise would be the 750 battery which is good for at least 4-5 dives.
