sony PC 330 Ikelite or Amphibico Can't Post

Hi everyone, Does anyone have a PC 330 in either an Ikelite
or Amphibico housing? I am in the market for a new set up and
would like to know what you think. Does anyone know of any
problems with the camcorder itself?
Thanx
Craig

Warning on the PC 330 Ikelite setup (+) Can't Post

A friend of mine just got this setup as a birthday present, nice huh. But with the Ikelite housing you cannot open the LCD completely (housing is too narrow) so they use a mirror. Problem is the camera will not give you a mirror image setting for the LCD so everything is backwards. My friend tried using it but got very frustrated and attempted to return the housing. However the place he bought it and Ikelite told him they would not take it back since he used it.
Another friend just bought the PC330 and an Undersea Video housing. He says the camera and housing a great, no complaints.

PC330 - other options [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm diving the 330 and a L & M Mako housing w/Monitor back (got 15 dives on it). I am very pleased with the camera and the housing. The quality of the video is superior to my prior 1-chip camera. THe colors are richer. I also find myself taking a lot of stills, I shot 220 on my last trip to the oil rigs.
I've always been a fan of the amphib housings, but I'm very pleased with this L & M. I went with the L&M vs. amphibico primarily due to the monitor back, I didn't want the external monitor to bang around.

That's why I went with Gates for my PC120, no need for any monitor. (+) [In reply to] Can't Post

Plus I can change lenes under water. But that L&M is a sweet setup too. I wish the PC330 would fit in my housing, but of course Sony made enough changes, to the width mostly, so it not fit.
