Mixer to Zoom H4 question Can't Post

I'm continuing to experiment with my Zoom H4. On Saturday I tried to take a direct feed from the PA for the first time. I used a cable similar to this cable. I was using the Rec Out on the board and plugging each one of the 1/4" male ends into the H4. No matter what combination I used I could only get a mono signal. Am I missing something? Is it possible to get a stereo feed from the mixing board with the Zoom H4?

Thanks,

Chris

Of course you can recrod a stereo feed into the H4. Are you sure the board was putting out a stereo signal and not simpley duplicating a mono signal on the left and right channels?

I don't know what the board was putting out. I did plug both male RCA plugs into the female RCA "Record Out" on the board. The signal only went to one channel of the Zoom.

Well that is strange indeed. It almost sounds like you have the input level of 1 of the 2 zoom channels turned all the way down. I can't think of any other possibility. You can't turn on just 1 external input.... I don't thnk... no I'm sure you cant...??? Try to plug it up to a different board, a stereo VCR or DVD player or something.
