No Sound Playback on GL2

I was just wondering if anyone ever came across this. My GL2 all of a sudden does not play back audio when I am in VCR mode with the flip-out view screen flipped out. I have checked the volume control, tried turning the camera on and off, and I can't figure it out. I haven't noticed the speaker starting to lose quality or anything. I just noticed it yesterday when I was playing back a tape and there was no audio. The audio comes through fine and the DV transfer to the computer.
