my XL1 tapes won't play in VX2000 Can't Post
I am having problems playing my XL1 minidv tapes in my Sony camcorders. I recorded these tapes in SP mode, using 4-channel audio. When I play on my VX2000 and PC101 I get a lot of gliches in the playback. Is this something that normally happens when using different brands of cameras? Or is there something wrong with my XL1? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does the tape play fine in the XL-1? Do the VX tapes play in the XL?

Odds are one or the other camera has a tape head that is slightly out of alignment.

I've had this problem before, albeit with a VX-1000. It was because the time-codes were not right.
Have you checked that?

I've had this problem with the canon-sony playing, if i film on a sony it won't play on canon, and if i film on canon, won't play on sony.

I don't know why, but i guess it's just a codding error, or different readings.

I would bet the heads of one, or the other, or both are out of alignment. They should both play the same tapes unless out of alignment. Send the Canon in for servicing and then see if they both play the same tapes.
