Re: [Brackish] Top photog will tutor you 1-on-1 for 4 days: $10,000 [In reply to] Can't Post

Here's my thought.

If I had oodles of money to start a business and REALLY liked this guys stuff and didn't know anything about photography or weddings then maybe, just maybe, I might not spit out my drink when I read that.

I can't imagine paying that.

Who would you like to spend some 1-on-1 time with?

Oh I'd take a little 1-on-1 time with Ralph Finnes in his English Patient get up if you know what I mean.

Ohh you were being serious, well. I don't think I want 1-on-1 time with anyone really. I took some lessons from my photography teacher and he comes to visit me in the studio often so I get to ask questions then.

Don't even get me started on Sasha Cohen.

Although, I do find it a little odd that MSNBC posted this photo on their website....(I need a drink)....

$10K for 4 days 1-on-1 doesn't sound bad, considering what some wedding video hucksters are charging.

I'd easily (okay, maybe not easily...I'd have to save for a while), pay $2500 for a 2 hour skating lesson (or just dinner, preferably) with Sasha.

so, the lighting on this, would it be a "3/4 broad side lighting", bordering on "rembrandt"? Cool Just to pull some "photography" into the thread.

Thanks, I used the new alien bees light and softbox for that - with the 580 flash as the fill light. Works quite well. I did some family shots with that set up. The tricky part was having the kid keep still so I ended up after a while just ditching the fill light and putting the soft box right beside me up high pointing down. The lighting was flatter but softbox is so nice it didn't look bad at all.
I'd post some photos but these are kids shots and I'm not sure they'd want me to. My friend and I are doing a photo day tomorrow so if nothing is too hideous I could post some from that for examples.

That alien bees light is really great. I love the fact it has an internal cooling fan and auto dump - the best part is that slider along the back. It's a good light!
