Album choices & Tuscany Album Can't Post

This has come up before but since we've all been growing in the world of photography I thought I'd ask it again.

What are you using for albums?
Graphi Studio?
Candid 2000
Asuka?
Something else that is good that I don't know of?

Has anyone else ordered a Tuscany album from Candid2000?

Feel free to PM me if you have an opinion and don't want to post on the open forum.

Thanks
H

Re: [Shadow] Album choices & Tuscany Album [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Shadow

you had asked if I tried Asuka, and I forgot to answer... doh
I haven't, but I know they are quite popular. My understanding is they are book style, with text-like pages...? So far my favorite one is the Kingston album from Albums Unlimited, which I ordered from Bay Photo, despite my baaaaad experience getting the darn thing made.

It arrived with 2 errors in it - they can't figure out what happened - it was on their end - an errant line went through part of the text and another page had an extra stroke around a box. ( I used ROES to design it, so they said it must have been a glitche). I emailed 3 different people like I was advised to do and no response. So I called and waited on the stuipid phone, finally got someone and she said they could replace the page. So after waiting 4 weeks to get it in the first place, I had to send it back, which sucks b/c the one week I did have it, 2 brides said they loved it and wanted one, though they had originally planned not to get an album. So it was definitely helping sales and both of those brides booked, and I believe that album helped.

So, reluctantly I mailed it back. Well, another 4 weeks goes by, and I called 2 days ago looking for it because I have some brides coming back to pick up proofs and I told them a while back that I would have an album sample by the time their wedding came around. Now I look like an ass b/c still no album. Bay Photo claim it was being shipped that day, though I haven't received any email confirmation of that being the case. Also, they said they would reimburse the shipping I paid to get it out and there and of course, they didn't, so I had to call them on that, too.

I don't know if it's b/c they are too big. All the other products I ordered from Bay Photo came lightening fast. If I do order another one, I will have to figure out how to get it through Albums Unlimited. Prints still need to be ordered from Bay Photo, and it looks confusing to me. But at least AI responded to my inquiry promptly, even though I didn't order the book from them.

I really like Candid2000's customer service, as well. REALLY - it was the one thing that made me want to use them. Unfortunately I didn't dig the Legend or Destiny album, and in my tests, the print quality wasn't as good as Bay or Miller's lab, so I decided to pass. But I'm intrigued by the Tuscany. I just wish they had more cover color choices. Tho most people probably end up getting black anyway.
