How much money do you want to spend? The Epson 2200 is an excellent printer. I think if you are going to do a large volume of prints, a lab is your best bet. mpix quality is fantastic, and their turn around is great!

Personally, I am not sure it is cost effective to run an inkjet or other printers considering how cheap it is to take your photos into a local shop.

Scott is right in that an Epson 2200 will produce a great print but, I think it would be close to the $2 for an 8x10 cost which is what Walmart charges I think.

I think it depends on which paper you use. running your own prints is very expensive! I get about 80 pages of full color on one set of ink carts from my r300. they cost $60 to replace them. if you use a pro lab like Miller's,
they do all the color correcting work for you. it might be cost efficient to print them a contact sheet, but like GL says, walmart or sams can do it faster and cheaper.

the Kodak 1400 dye-sub should be released in the next week or two (delayed since November). Price is $549. Cost per sheet ~$2.00. Not as cheap as costco, etc. but you have control over the output at least.
