Julian, It was nice seeing you and Terry while I was in New Orleans. You have a great place and live in a great city. I understand that when you put all that into it the price becomes a little more tolerable. But still, at $120 per night for hotel, breakfast for 3 days at $20 per day and the Mardi Gras Gala (4Ever is $100 so I will just say $100), that still puts the price of the workshop at around $1100, a lot of money for working stiffs like me. As I said, I just spent two days with Beckstead at $600 for both 8 hour plus days. The workshop included classroom, on location photoshoot with models, more classroom and critique session. I thought the $600 was a lot of money. I am sure that class would be wonderful and very beneficial, but I don't know of too many photographers, if any, around here that would pay the $600 let alone $1700, even if it does include room and breakfast. Not only would you incur the cost of $1700, but you would also have to factor in travel, lunch and dinner. I would think the 3 days would end up being quite costly. So when I said the students would be elite, I did not mean that the students would only be top photographers but rather, a handful that could afford such a workshop. Heck, I don't think I spent near that amount of money at the 5 day 4Ever Group conference last year in Jacksonville. I don't know, maybe this is a testament that photographers really do make a lot more money than us videographers. I will say this, if $2000 was a little easier for me to come by and I had more money, I would probably entertain the idea a little more. I did learn a lot with Beckstead.. was it worth $600+? will I be able to sell what I learned? I don't know, but i had a lot of fun.
