Hey there my man,

Checked out your site and films. I think the thing that stuck out the most for me was how hard it was for your friends to take their acting seriously but that's ok it looked like it was all in fun. I usually would persuade someone to not go to film school and use the money instead to make their first film. Here I think you could use your film school experience to learn more about cinematic control, pacing and how better to block your shots and the #1 reason and usually the only reason someone should go is networking.

You ask if you should keep making movies. I ask you this. Do you enjoy it? Is it something that burns deep within you? It's not up to me or anyone else to tell you which road to take. If you you want to make movies then make movies no matter what anyone says. Practice though, and I mean practice not just by shooting some funny film but by trying out new techniques, lighting styles everything you can think of. You don't need people do this either.

Good luck buddy I have your site bookedmark so I will be expecting to see you get better and better.

Oh yeah....you have a slow server maybe coding your movies as wmvs might help some. Movs are great when you have very good to excellent footage but since these were done with a consumer cam I suggest wmv. Someone else might be able to tell you better on that it's just my opinion.

Thanks alot for checking out my site. I think the server is really slow right now they are doing upgrades on it or at least thats what they told me. Also I really like making movies but most of the movies I've made were in highschool but the one's that i made in film classes were lazy and run. I was wonder do you think the canon xl2 is a good camera to buy or do you think the canon gl2 is fine. I hope you keep checking my work out. Thanks a lot.

Zack here is a little story.

A guy gets his friends together in high school and they start making silly little films nothing anyone would care to see and by time they graduate the guy that got them together decides he wants to make a real film. So he and his friends canvas a neighborhood with a short film they made where they know doctors and lawyers live in hopes of getting someone to listen to them and help make their film. Well as luck would have it they ran across a dentist who was willing and they raised $7,000.

They then proceeded to find a cabin in the woods and make their movie. The director not only wrote a very original story but he also developed a camera technique to enhance his story telling a technique to this day that film teachers show their students. Well their movie was a mild hit but enough of one to secure the sequel and here is where things got interesting. The sequel unlike the first movie was more comedic and became an instant hit and cult classic. It was followed by the third installment which is by far the most well known and is an icon in the film-making world which is strange since all the movies I just mentioned were horror flicks.

If you haven't guessed by now the movies were "The Evil Dead 1 and 2" and "The Army of Darkness". But of course most people would know Sam Raimi as the man who finally after years of frustrating dead ends was able to bring Spiderman to the big screen. Also let's not forget Ash played by Bruce Campbell from the Evil Deads who is the only known hero in the horror genre when most are always killed off Ash shall live on. You can also see cameos of Bruce in both Spidermans.

The more you practice Zack and the more you take what you are doing seriously the better you will get. That is a promise.

Now for camera types. If you have the funds for a XL2 then go with it since you have the 24fps option and gamma control plus interchangeable lenses. If not then use the GL2 in the long run it's always about the story and how well it is told.

Yes I will continue to watch your work Zack it would be my pleasure. Look in my profile for my yahoo id and add me to your list and maybe we can talk more.
