Surveillance System and HD project? Can't Post
Anybody have any experience with GeoVision's Surveillance system? We are in video production and we purchased this camera and computer surveillance system to capture time lapse footage of a construction over 6 weeks. Supposidly the camera quality is supposed to be 720/480 and we are hoping to mix in post with our HD footage.The salesperson made it sound all very simple - just connect camera to system and set the times for recording. Well.... it is anything but simple. I have been reading the books all night and still am wondering if I've got it right. Tomorrow afternoon we have to take the computer and camera to the construction site and hook it up --- I'm pretty worried as if I do not have it recording right as I cannot risk missing this shot. 720/480 is gonna be small on an HD timeline. If you try and re-frame it larger, it granulates. One thing I do is either run several clips in the same frame or set it over a moving background. Good luck!

One of the other things you can do is build your timeline in 4:3 SD and downsize all your HD clips. But you might have some reservation about that. Do some test captures and see.

I use the Sony vx2000 interval recording for time lapse. It does a great job.
