Vegas7 HDV Capture Messing up Can't Post

OK, even in the SD capture I have it set to NOT do scene detection... Capturing HDV from either my Canon A1 or Sony HC1 now breaks up the clips instead of capturing the entire tape to one file (like I want it) IT appears to cut when I stopped recording as if there is a break in timecode or something...

Any ideas? Is it a timecode setting on my A1 (free time, drop, nondrop, etc.) or what? I originally thought it was because I was shooting A1 and capturing on HC1, but not it... I just captured from the A1 shot by A1 and does the same darn thing.

TIA!

Hey Jerome, Are you still having the same problem. I know a software update for Vegas is in the works.

I meant to post a response to this thread... it seemed when I updated to 7e, on HDV preferences, scene detection WAS on (right click on the capture folder or something to get those options...seems hidden.) anyways, it still hiccups some and pops in a break... now I'm getting about 4 (on average) seperate clips when I capture a full tape, but not 38 or moreWink.

I'll look for an update.....

Thanks.

He he he.... I have 7e and it still breaks up the clips... funny thing is for me this if for dance performances where the tape runs without any breaks and it still breaks up into 7 or 8 clips...

I forgot to update this thread... I notice it happens now if I capture from the Sony HC1 with footage shot from the Canon A1. If I capture from the Canon, it doesn't do it...................... guess I need to get a HV20 for a balcony cam/deck.

For me, I film with both the A1s and capture with the A1s.
