Slow Motion in FCP, HELP! Can't Post

Ok quick question on doing slow motion in FCP.
What is everyone's preference?

I have been more than happy with velocity changes (slow/fast) in Sony Vegas, as it's smooth as silk.

However, FCP sucks in my opinion for velocity (speed) changes.

I have tried both, Time Remapping and straight speed changes to the clips themselves.
But the end result of the slow motion stutter's (producing a trailing strobe type effect) most of the time. Very unsatisfactory for me. BTW, I render from a HDV timeline to ProRes.
Would deinterlacing help the process?

Is the best way to do slow motion in FCP, sending the clips to Motion for Time Remapping, or is there a way that I can generate smooth slow motion in FCP itself?

It would really suck to have to constantly sned clips to Motion to achieve what should be a simple task for an NLE.

keep with even percentages if you can. FCP does indeed suck at slomo...

Funny thing is I did, but I noticed that when I entered speeds such as 65% that FCP rounded the speed to something like 65.5 or something like that. But when I bring the footage over to Motion it shows up as 65%. I think that I will try the 50% only methid that was mentioned to me in another post.
Supodisly FCP prefers a 50% rate of slow motion for best reults.
