Uprading Studio to Studio 2 Can't Post

Just ordered the Studio 2 upgrade that I will install in my new tower (not delivered yet) and existing MacBook Pro.
quick question for those who have already upgraded:

1) when I do the upgrade to the new tower, will I need to completely install the original studio 1 set of disc's first so the installer can recognize the earlier version????? Or will I be able to simply enter the registration numbers from studio 1, and then at some point be prompted to enter the newest version registration numbers?

I asked 2 different Apple reps at the local apple store and received two different answers. Apple on-line support is a little confusing as well.

Thanks for any help.

You just need the previous numbers...

Confirming Scott's answer - I only needed the upgrade discs and the original serial numbers.

And - hopefully everyone had this - it was a very painless upgrade - didn't have any problems that I can remember and it hasn't been that long since I upgraded. The only thing I remember is getting the "this project is from an older version of FC" type messages when I opened them the first time.

Saw Larry Jordan (FC guru) at WEVA this week, he recommended 6.0.3 as the upgrade version of choice - just a suggestion / FYI.

Happy upgrading!

make sure to make a backup of your original project files before you open them with the new version. I havent ever needed it, but if a project file corrupted, i would be a bit pissed.
