real time possibilities for mac

lots of pkgs. under 10K out there, including real time render,
3d, scrolling titles, etc. for the nt platform.
such a thing for mac? (media 100 looks to be about $23K when decked out for digital.... retail)
i can barely use a fraction of my editdv, but business reality
dictates that i spread my time out more evenly between selling,
shooting, and editing. render's a big freakin' waste of time.
it also ties up the puter.
maybe i'm over anxious. brother hal?
