If I can operate a wildly successful bulletin board service for over five full years past it's Date Of Expiry ... I can certainly run a profitable wedding video business for the next few years with my investment in SD technology. Probably so, but you'll be doing your customers a disservice if you don't at least offer them the option to record and deliver high-definition video. This isn't some trivial change we're talking about here: it's a significant increase in image quality combined with a switch from 4x3 to 16x9 viewing format, which is going to make typical SD video look very dated a few years from now. Making sensible business decisions during this transition is one thing, but any suggestion that one can safely ignore the HD revolution would be misguided. If you want the best and most lucrative customers, you should be planning how to offer HD wedding videos now, not a few years from now when people will expect HD quality from 'Uncle Charlie.'
