recording dv w/ firewire audio? Can't Post

Will a vx1000 allow a digital firewire audio bypass? ie http://210.243.85.5/...l.php?product_id=588

are you trying to get the audio from the box to the cam or from the cam to the box. i dont think ether will work o that box. i think the firewire ports are just to connect the box to a computer. but i dont know much about it.

Well either would be interesting but I'm trying to record video and use the audio from the digital mixer instead of the vx1000 doing the encoding. Mostly what I'm trying to avoid is plug-in power jack. I have a mixer right now with phantom powered mics that I connect w/ rca > 1/8" tsr but I'm not sure if its the right impedance so I got a high low converter and hook it to the main out but its only mono so I'm going to need another one if I want two channels and a mini stereo male to two female monos which starts to get sloppy. Its bad enough having the mixer and mic pops.
