Starting Video Co. -- NEED HELP/ADVICE!

GOAL:
To video at a quality level in which can be bumped up to ¾ for broadcast via public television network.
The editing will be handled using Adobe Premier and Adobe After Affects.
My budget includes video camera, Mac (minimum-set up) for video editing, (hardware & software included., Plus the video card, ie., Miro DC 30, Targa, etc.
My Budget is $6,000. (For All)
My market is Music Videos, Corporate Instructional & Motivational Videos, and occasionally Family Reunions/Weddings.
For Production:
What video format should I choose for shooting the footage?
Which Mac should I purchase?
Which video card should I purchase?
Please offer any other information or tips.
