HELP Do I need another video card? New to NLE! Can't Post

I NEED HELP! I'm new to NLE. I'm going to make a half hour sports video. I have a Dell dimension L700cx which has a 700mhz processor 64 megs RAM 10 GIG HD. From what I've researched I need to buy another 128 megs or so of RAM Another HD maybe 40 or 60 GIGs and I plan on getting the Pyro Platinum bundle which includes premier 6.0. My question is do I need a better video card than my PC comes with? Also am I right about what else I need to buy? Do I need a better capture card than the plain old Pyro Platinum or will that be OK? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!

If your existing video card can display 1024x768 or higher resolutions in true color (24 or 32 bits per pixel) you are probably OK. Check with Pyro to see if they have a list of compatible components.
Any late model display card with chipsets like the NVIDIA GeForce 2, or the RAGE 128 or RADEON cards from ATI, or the 3D Labs Oxygen series, should do fine.

For the pyro platinum, you gernerally would only need another 64 megs of RAM, so 128 megs of RAM should do you fine. You definitely want to have dedicated storage for your video, and if you are working on a half-hour video, then 40 gigs is fine. The pyro Platinum bundle with premier is also fine for your needs as long as you are working with DV only. That is a DV only capture card. As for your video card, th eplainer the better. You want a 16-32 mb video card with no DV and no capture. The key here is that you want a video card that will keep up with your capture card, but allow you capture card to do what it's paid to do.
You should go to www.videoguys.com to do more research on the Pyro line as well as other real-time lines that we carry. You'll also be bale to receive more info on compatibility issues, and what you'll need to do to your system to get it ready. We carry the Pyro Platinum at $279.99. You can also call me personally to discuss your system now in further detail to try and find a solution that is right for you.
