: my laptop dont have serial input, i connected the DV with firewire but i can not use JLIP capture/producer.
I'm confused. JLIP is JVC's proprietary device control protocol. Firewire is the industry standard serial data transfer for digital video, that handles audio/viodeo data, time code, and device control. If you have a Firewire connection, you shouldn't be trying to use JLIP to control the camcorder. You should be able to capture directly from within MovieMaker.
