: I'd like to hook my Sony TRV9 digit. camcorder up to my laptop, to save videos as mpegs or whatever (streaming video, not snapshots). My laptop (Gateway) doesn't have a FireWire port, but there are pcmcia (pc-) cards with FireWire connectors.
: The one that I have seen on the Sony website is very expensive ($650), and mentions something to the effect that only stills can be captured. I want to use the digital out (firewire) to transfer videos to my laptop and subsequently burn them on cds.
