Another airplane/battery question Can't Post

Anyone know if I can carry a 6V Bescor battery like this one on an airplane under the current rules?
If so I gather I have to bring it in my carry-on in some sort of sealed container, like a Ziploc bag?

Kevin:

Shouldn't be any problem. I went to Orlando last week with my NRG Campak (similar to this, but an older lead-acid version). It shows as a big dense brick on x-ray, so I wasn't surprised that they wanted to take it out and swab it. But you can go to www.faa.gov and search for batteries to get specifics.

Thanks for the info! I decided not to bring this battery on my next trip, but will consider for the future.

I neglected to mention that I just had the battery in its normal pouch. Many times, it has gone through security with no questions at all. Other times, I've had to have my camera swabbed. Only once did they ever want to go through my whole bag. Security is in the eye of the beholder...Wink

how about Anton Bauer Dionic 90s. Carry on or checked luggage and EX 1 batteries all on a domestic flight.

I carried two Dionic 90's more than once on a plane. They CANNOT be in your checked baggage though. I also had the Anton Bauer transportation sheet printed out and carried with me in case I needed it.

The last time was a little over a year ago. AFTER the new rules on batteries took effect.

Thanks, one more question if you don't mind what airline did you use.
