Speakers/Presentation Program for February's Meeting

Christie and David McKnight of McKnight Video. (that'd be me...)

They recently produced a DVD of concerts and events featuring 80's pop star Rick Springfield ("Jessie's Girl", General Hospital).
Everything was produced while on board a cruise ship and before the 5-day cruise was over, more than 700 1.5 hour DVDs had been delivered to his fans.

At this month's HPVA meeting David and Christie will:

* Share how they accomplished this successfully (but not without incident)
* Explain how the planning and preparation is not unlike a Same Day Edit
* Discuss the grueling schedule of covering more than ten events in five days
* Show several clips from the finished DVD

More information about the cruise itself is available at Rick Springfield Cruise

Also, everyone is encourage to bring any current or past video project on DVD that you would like to "Show-n-Tell" during the meeting for either peer review and comment or simply elaborate about the production experience of the video.

Hey David and Christie,

You guys did a great job of sharing your experience doing this production and the lessons learned. Thanks for the time in preparing this program and delivering such an authentic presentation. I was touched, moved and inspired by ya'lls willingness to create and use the resources to pre-plan and then execute your plan even with the notorious unknowns that are there to keep things interesting in this business.

And the location wasn't all that bad either, matter of fact it was an incredible venue. Too bad for everyone in Houston, who missed this wonderful opportunity to have access to the resources that are present in this meet-up group/gathering.

Thanks again for your presentation.

Cheers.
Sandy B
