vegas 8 fx1 render settings for dvd

I capture in hd edit in hd, i want to avoid rendering in mpeg 2 only to have architect or nero re render after authoring in order to avoid recompressing. WHAT SETTINGS should i be using to get the best possible resolution and quickest render times while avoiding re rendering. I hope this makes sense.

howard right now i go with hdv 1440 x 1080 should I use some other setting like 1920 or a blu ray setting? i just dont understand why i have to wait hours rendering from vegas only to have to re render for hours to get a dvd
